Okay so my general question - why aren't coins that put ease of use and simplicity + risk management as their priority more popular with the crypto community? And I mean actually blockchains not some wannabe erc20 tokens or clones of them.
I get that BTC already has a status of digital gold and the probability of it being used as a payment coin is getting lower and lower, as layer 2 solutions like LN are quite scary for uneducated public - so why aren't alts that embrace ease of use, safety and some kind of risk management of transactions being endorsed more ?
Wouldn't it be the easiest way to find the "apple" of the industry to actually pick the coin with slickest UX/UI and bulletproof tech with "mass adoption enabling" features available to average Joe?
Most people probably consider NANO or XRP to be the one, but I would really like to ask your opinion on Nimiq and hear your thoughts on it. I am a long term miner and supporter of this coin, and of course there is a chance it won't ever make it to the crypto "mainstream", or in other words top50 of the coins.
So I would like someone unbiased to check it out and let me know their opinion on it - call it a shitcoin, or whatever.
Nimiq is a first ever fully browser-based blockchain with browser wallet, that acts directly as a node when connected.
Here are the main selling points:
- you can run it in any browser either on PC or smartphone or whatever you decide to use
- it takes seconds - few minutes at most to make wallet and to get familiar with it
- wallet is very similar to internet banking experience
- addresses are compatible with SEPA lengths + each wallet has unique emoticon to go with it, so it is harder to send money to wrong address in case of virus as you would recognize the change of avatar
- super fast and cheap transactions
- BTC/NIM atomic swaps directly in the wallet, with ETH and FIAT pairs coming soonish
- Proof of stake with 1000+ tps/s coming soon
- https://cryptopayment.link/- for people to send crypto via messages/emails etc.
- perfectly working woo-commerce plugin called nimiq checkout for businesses to accept crypto (BTC/ETH/NIM)
- ledger support
and many more things to come on roadmap
This might sound as a biased post, and to be honest it even might be, but I am seriously curious why people wouldn't want to use coin like this for day to day payments, along with the BTC as a savings account - which you can actually directly swap in the wallet without need of an exchange account.
For European users, there will be EURO-NIM/BTC swaps via german bank soon. I don't know about you but for me this is certainly the future apple of the crypto industry.
