Recent survey of Central bank digital currencies (CBDC) development, conducted by Bank for International Settlements (BIS) shows that central banks are set to introduce a “general purpose CBDC in the next three years.” Based on the BIS survey 86% of global central banks are actively exploring CBDCs, an indication that nations around the world are working towards taking advantage of blockchain technology. Also , 14% are already implementing pilot programs.
