I'm relatively new to cryptocurrencies, but as I was doing my research on wallets and altcoins, I got a little confused with the way wallets are able to store my coins.
It makes sense that hardware wallets can store Bitcoins and Ethereum through private keys, but when it comes to altcoins that are not exchanged on big exchanges like Coinbase and Binance, can they be stored on the wallet still? or do the wallets have crypto currencies limitations like the exchanges do too?
Also, does this also apply to software wallets?
I really want to get into exchanging because I've been gathering a lot of knowledge on cryptocurrencies in the past few months and want to start this off the right way, so I am open to any other tips as well.
