Question for Indian crypto currency holders and traders.

I've been getting very mixed answers on weather crypto is legal in India. I am trying to convince my uncle to invest but he keeps telling me its illegal. When I Google it I get mixed answers too. So is it legal? Also is it safe to invest here in India? What app do you use? Does Binance work in India?
